NESTED gives you the tools to identify, measure and control the major sources of variability in your data.

It helps you create effective nested or hierarchical designs - and you can make informed decisions about repeatability, precision, differences, equivalence, stability and capability.

NESTED is for scientists, engineers and statisticians – though you don’t have to be a statistician to use it. It’s easy to learn and easy to use to create and fine-tune your own NESTED designs.

1. Import your Design

You can create your design step by step within NESTED, though many people start by simply importing their design from Excel^TM, using the Import Wizard.

2. Summarise and Transform your Data

You can now view the summary statistics - average, variances, ranges - for the whole dataset, or for subgroups (e.g. analyst, day) of the dataset. You can also apply a mathematical transformation to all the values of a Response. This can be useful if you wish to achieve more symmetry in the distribution of data.

3. Visualise your Data with the NESTED Plots

You can visualise the overall variation for a selected Response.  In the example below, we're looking at the values for Product, bracketed by Analyst. Averages for a factor can be plotted.

4. Variance Components Analysis

You can display the relative sizes of the variance components sorted from largest to smallest.

5. Further Analyses: Precision, Cell Means Analysis, Control Charts

From the Variance Components information above and further features in NESTED, you can evaluate sampling schemes & precision.

You can test for differences & equivalences, and assess the stability and capability of your assay, process or system.
